Feel yourself travel back in time from the very moment you set eyes on the signboard of Lam Yeo, possibly one of the oldest shops selling coffee powder in modern Singapore. Built in 1847 at Lavender Road, Goh Chor Tua Pek Kong Temple is the result of the work put in by Chinese labourers working on Joseph Balestier's sugar plantations back in those days. It was refurbished in 1920 and 1928, and is currently undergoing renovation every 5 years for maintenance. The story behind Goh Chor Tua Pek Kong is an interesting one. read more »
