This Madame Tussauds Wax Museum is the renown chain of wax museums' first permanent outlet in Asia. Opened in 2000, the museum features many prominent Asian figures on top of its usual cast of famous personalities around the world. Hong Kong Ocean Park is an oceanarium, animal theme park, and amusement park rolled into one. Opened in 1977, the theme park boasts an annual visitor attendance of over 5 million, rivaling the Hong Kong Disneyland. The Hong Kong Disneyland is a curious mix of the theme park's western heritage and the city state's cultural heritage. For example, the park was designed in consultation with feng shui masters, and park attendants and cast speak a mixture of Cantonese, English and Mandarin. One of Hong Kong's most popular street markets, Ladies Market is packed with locals and tourists looking for bargains on clothes, accessories, bags, cosmetics, souvenirs, household knick-knacks and other quirky items. It emerged as a result of the Hong Kong government's efforts to create 'authorized hawkering zones' back in 1975, and derived its name due to the abundance of hawkers selling ladies clothing and accessories. Built in 1847, Man Mo Temple is a temple dedicated to the worship of the God of Literature (Man Tai, 文帝) and God of War (Mo Tai, 武帝), two gods popularly patronized by scholars in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Many of them sought progress in their study or blessings to achieve a high ranking in the civil examinations back then. While there are several Man Mo Temples in Hong Kong, this one on Hollywood Road is the largest of them all. read more »

Western Market, completed in 1906 and renovated in 1991, is the oldest market building in Hong Kong. The current building was actually built as an extension of the previous Western Market, which started operations in 1844.
