The pink blossoms of Chompoo Phu Kha is similar to the Japanese sakura blossoms and it is a rare plant that can only be found here. During the flowering season from February to March, the sky is literally filled with light pink buds making the place look very spectacular and wonderful. The most famous temple in the City of Nan, Wat Phumin is a uniquely designed temple, featuring a 4-portico, single building that houses both the Ubosot and Vihan. Wat Phumin consists of 4 Buddha statues in the main hall, with their backs against one another, facing 4 different directions. Enough of sightseeing around Nan province? Visit the Wa River then to experience the thrill of whitewater rafting! Originating from the huge Phi Pan Nam Mountain Range, the Wa River is the longest in Thailand, drifting a long distance before it joins up with Nan River near to Amphoe Wiang Sa. The whitewater rafting begins at the Amphoe Mae Charim region when there is an incredible volume of water, bringing visitors on a rafting journey through various locations such as Kaeng Sua, Kaeng Pha Tae, Kaeng Nam Pu and Kaeng Sai Mun Pong located in the Mae Charim National Park. The second part of the whitewater rafting is restricted to expert rafters given the difficult torrents, continuing from Kaeng Luang and moving up to Pang Chang. read more »
