The Guanziling Water Fire Source is an unusual sight whereby the source of the natural gas bubbles up through a clear pool, to create an image of flames dancing just above the water. It is a queer and rare sight to see. Guanzhilin Scenic Area is located north of Shanxi river on the river terrace, 270 metres above sea level. Koxinga Shrine is constructed in 1663, to worship the hero Cheng Chen-Kung who fought off the Dutch and reclaimed freedom. You will walk through the beautifully-maintained courtyard that gives off the traditional feel with its red painted colour of the buildings and the stone pavement, followed by noticing a dragon fountain in its pond while crossing a little bridge. It was initially named as Fort Provintia which means 'eternity' in Dutch. Anping Fort used to be called Fort Zeelandia when it was first built by the Dutch over the span of ten years from 1624 to 1634. It was built for the Dutch to anchor their base at a strategic location with ease of access to shipments of food and reinforcements from Batavia. The Eternal Fortress first started its construction in 1874 and was completed 2 years later.
