Wei Chuan Pushin Ranch is one of the famous and the first ranch to establish in Taiwan and trained 2000 dairy farmers in assistance to the government's plan. At this cultural centre, visitors can get to learn about the Amis tribe (阿美族). Their deep love for dancing and singing brings them to create instruments using materials from the natural environment. Traditional musical instruments such as the “Bamboo Drum” (竹鼓) are used to deter the birds during harvest time, “Nose Pipes” (鼻笛) are used to communication purposes and “Bamboo Bell” (竹鐘)is used to announce the acceptance of the son-in-law by bride’s family as well as many others are on display in the Amis Folk Centre. read more »

Fangliao Arts Village is located along the lane of row-houses nearby an old Fangliao train station. After the station stopped functioning, the abandoned row-houses were occupied by homeless people and drug abusers which made it social problem for the local citizens. Later on, it was turned into an arts village by a few arts enthusiasts. read more »

A tragic event happened on September 21, 1999 at 01:47AM where the central part of Taiwan was hit by a 7.3 earthquake, according to the Richter Scale. The consequences which included the number of deaths and damage to properties made this earthquake being ranked as one of worst natural disasters in Taiwan for the past century. read more »

Situated not far from Tunghai University, is the Tunghai Art Street, or also known as the Taichung Art Street. Do not be fooled by the name where it only shows one street apparently, it is actually a collection of streets and narrow alleys dominated with art galleries, handicraft shops and more! There are also several secondhand bookshops where visitors might be able to come across many stories or tales that are unheard of. Even though Tunghai Art Street dates back to only 1980s, it is still a place rich in culture and arts where visitors will never regret to earn an experience. read more »

Since the closure of Qigu Salt Fields, the salt deposits formed the chief peak with dust covering its hard surface and became a major tourist attraction since then. Anping Old Street used to be the original Dutch settlement in Tainan. It contains some of the oldest streets in Taiwan. While edging your way through the narrow streets and alleys, you will find that these walkways are dominated with vendors, eateries, provision shops and even gaming cafes! As much as many of these will allow you to do some recreational shopping and fruitful dining experience, many of the older buildings are still well preserved even up to this day. read more »

Cigu Lagoon is Taiwan's largest lagoon, situated on the west side of Taiwan. This large lagoon, covering 1600 hectares, serves as a great site for catching fishes and cultivating oysters for the fishermen since a long time. Bopiliao Old Street is a street for or arts and crafts, with creative wall paintings. The center is divided into three main buildings, including a story hall, education hall and a medical hall.
