Fangliao Arts Village is located along the lane of row-houses nearby an old Fangliao train station. After the station stopped functioning, the abandoned row-houses were occupied by homeless people and drug abusers which made it social problem for the local citizens. A tragic event happened on September 21, 1999 at 01:47AM where the central part of Taiwan was hit by a 7.3 earthquake, according to the Richter Scale. Anping Old Street used to be the original Dutch settlement in Tainan. It contains some of the oldest streets in Taiwan. Cigu Lagoon is Taiwan's largest lagoon, situated on the west side of Taiwan.
