Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the National Museum (Muzium Negara) is an important Museum that serves as a guardian of Malaysia's history. Built in the style of a traditional Malay house, it features a huge central main entrance wall that is flanked by two exhibition wings. Here, visitors will learn about the development of Malaysia from pre-historic times to the present through its exciting and innovating exhibits. The four main galleries are: a Historical Gallery, a Metalwork and Musical Instruments Gallery, a Cultural Gallery, a National Sports Gallery and a Natural History Gallery. Items that can be seen here include traditional costumes, weapons, musical instruments, exquisite ceramics and more, including a number of national treasures.
