An architectural marvel, the Helix Bridge is the world's first curved bridge, officially opened on 24 April 2010. It links Marina Bay to Marina Centre, and is the longest pedestrian linkway in Singapore at 280 meters long. Its architecture is simply astounding, featuring the world's first 'double-helix' structure, an engineering feat assembled with great precision. The curved design of the Helix Bridge is inspired by the yin and yang concept in Asian culture and also resembles the structure of DNA, combining to bring wealth, prosperity, as well as life and continuity to Marina Bay. The Helix Bridge also overlooks part of the race track used for Singapore's Formula 1 night races. A visit to this engineering marvel should not be missed, with the Helix Bridge having viewing platforms, adorned by paintings and drawings by youth, and illuminated beautifully at night.
