Jurong Bird Park - Bird Park in Singapore

The 20-hectare Jurong Bird Park is an outstanding bird park, the largest in Southeast Asia. Opened on 3 January 1971, it boasts of over 9,000 birds from more than 600 species. It also has the world's largest collection of Southeast Asian hornbills and South American toucans. Its physical structure is shaped to closely resemble the original habitats for the birds, from the African grasslands to the South American rainforests. Apart from the natural refreshing ambience of the park, visitors to Jurong Bird Park can be entertained by the highly popular bird shows, in which a variety of birds star in. Be awed by the agility and swift maneuvers of hawks and falcons flying in aerial loops, or be fascinated by the mimicking parrots. There are various other highlights in Jurong Bird Park, such as the African Waterfall Aviary, the hornbill and toucan exhibit, Penguin Coast, Macaw Island, Flamingo Lake and Heliconia Repository. Jurong Bird Park also features the walk-in lory flight aviary, the world's largest in size and offering visitors the chance to observe the birds up close while feeding them.
