Looking for a magnificent temple to visit in Singapore? Lian Shan Shuang Lin Monastery in Toa Payoh would be the best place to go and is the oldest temple in Singapore. Occupying 40,000 square metres, this national monument of a Buddhist temple was completed in 1908 and in remembrance of Buddha's birth and death. After 11 years of restoration, Lian Shan Shuang Lin Monastery has reopened and visitors will be greeted by a gateway that is elaborately decorated to depict the magnificence of this national beauty. Be sure to head to the courtyard to appreciate the carved Buddhas.
