Comprising four townships on five islands, the Matsu National Scenic Area is widely known for its differing scenery across the four seasons. Catch the sight of blossoms in spring, while summer is perfect for sea-watching. Autumn provides a comfortable environment, while winter is great for fishing. The beautiful scenery here has attracted many photographers and painters, and tourists flock here to appreciate the starry skies at night. Most of the tourist sites within the Matsu National Scenic Area are located in Nangan, the capital of Matsu.

Must do tips
1. Make sure to visit Nangan to see the majority of attractions of the Matsu National Scenic Area , such as the Tunnel 88 used for storage by Matsu Distillery, or the Queen of Heaven temple, the first Mazu Temple built by the government in Taiwan.

The TamMa Ferry offers daily service from Keelung Harbor in Taiwan to Fu-ao Harbor in Nangan and Zhongzhu Harbor in Dongyin
-Nangan and Beigan have public bus service, and taxis can be found at major harbors. Taxi prices should be negotiated in advance
