This tunnel was constructed in 1996, providing a platform for tourists to view the many geographical wonders in Taroko National Park like the rock folds, joints and fissures of the marble cliffs. The two cliffs are situated so close to each other that it is as if they are joining to each other if one sees them from a distance. Furthermore, it has the reputation of 'Nine Turns of the Coiled Dragon'. While the distance between the cliffs is only about 10-meters wide, the narrow waters of the Kelan River, depicting a 'Fish leaping across the dragon gate' image. Must do tips

1. Admire the work of nature as it weaves 'a thread of sky' (as it is known by the locals) through two facing cliffs at very close proximity. Also, do not miss the marble cliffs that have all kinds of colours and design that will definitely leave you in awe.
