The Swallow Grotto is a cliff that is situated alongside the Taroko George with natural potholes on its surfaces as a result of the river and groundwater erosion. Visitors will have to take a stroll through the Tunnel of Nine Turns in order to view the Swallow Grotto at a close-up range, and that also comes with the additional benefit of enjoying the sceneries of Taroko George and Tunnel of Nine Turns which in turn complements the ecological habitat of the swallows - Swallow Grotto.
This place is also known as 燕子口.
