It is situated near the bank of the Sun Moon Lake and has three separate halls each dedicated to different great historical people in the Chinese history, namely the First Ancestor Kaiji, God of Literature, God-of-War Guan Gong, Warrior-God Yue Fei and Confucius. There is also a flight of 366 steps to the temple that symbolises the days of a year (including leap year) with rest-points at the step that marks the start of each month. Wind chimes are placed along the steps to bless the visitors and if you are a believer, you can purchase a wind chime of your own Chinese zodiac and hang it along the steps.
This place is also known as 文武廟.
