The Royal Barges National Museum houses an impressive display of the royal barges of Thailand. The royal barges were used as military purposes in the past. In the present day, it became one of the strongest cultural representation of Thailand. Each barge is uniquely designed with many different mythical creatures representing the nation's strong devotion to their religion. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to catch the barges glide in the waters and so you must plan in advance to visit the Royal Barges National Museum at Songkran each year as a procession of barges will be used to provide transportation for the King from his palace. It is definitely one of the most authentic ceremonies you cannot miss in Thailand.
