This Kite Museum holds about 3000 kites in its showroom. They are unique pieces that come not only from Japan but from China and around Asia as well. The kites' framing material is mainly bamboo, due to its abundance in Japan as well as the flexibility and lightweight factor. To facilitate understanding, there are laminated cards that detail facts about the kites, and which introduce the history of kites in both Japan and China. Descriptions are in English as well. If you need directions here, try asking a passerby for 'Taimeiken'.
This place is also known as 凧の博物館.
