Martyr's Shrine is located in the Shoushan area, resting on the slopes of the Qing Mountain and overlooks the Keelung River. You can also find the Grand Hotel right next to Martyr's Shrine. It was built in 1969 and occupies a large area. The shrine was built by the Japanese when they took over Taiwan during the Japanese occupation. Hence, Martyrs' Shrine is designed and constructed like a typical Japanese temple style. After the war, the shrine became a peaceful shrine in memory of those who were lost in the conflict. There are also photos commemorating historical events from China's past around the walls within the Martyrs' Shrine. It is a good place for you to spend quiet moment alone as it is a quiet and tranquil place.
This place is also known as 國民革命忠烈祠.
