As one of the most significant Lantau tourist spots, Tian Tan Buddha is an attraction not to be missed. It is the world's largest outdoor seated bronze Buddha statue, being 34 metres tall and sitting atop the 482m Muk Yue Shan. The Buddha is symbolic of Sakyamuni, who attained enlightenment following deep mediation. The sight of the Tian Tan Buddha is likely to induce a sense of calm over you as you embark on a sacred tour around the area. Breathe in the beautiful scenery along the way where you will catch panoramic views of Lantau and South China sea after going up the 268 steps!
